Rodney accepts briefs in family law, protection and care and restraining orders matters. Rodney may also accept briefs in other areas of law, upon request.

Rodney is an arbitrator for the purposes of reg 67B of the Family Law Regulations 1984 (Cth), and is available to act as arbitrator in family law disputes (financial cases only).

In 2014, Rodney took articles at a boutique family law firm in Perth, and was admitted to practice the following year.

In 2018, Rodney commenced employment as a lawyer with Legal Aid WA in the family law team. While at Legal Aid, Rodney commenced the National Independent Children's Lawyer training program, and completed it in November 2019.

In July 2019, Rodney took up the position of Legal Associate to the Honourable Justice Sutherland, Chief Judge of the Family Court of Western Australia. Rodney concluded his term as Legal Associate in September 2021, and joined John Toohey Chambers.

Prior to completing his law degree, Rodney worked as a contracts specialist in the mining industry, providing commercial support to large-scale infrastructure projects. He also spent time working for a commercial law firm.
